Not the five love languages, although those are great too, just the language of love. I have been learning here in Honduras, because I dont know spanish, the Lord has been showing me that love really does exceed the boundaries of language.

When I go to the old folks home not only do I know limited spanish, but they speak very unclear (due to lack of teeth) and I have a feeling even if I did understand them they would be saying crazy things like really old people tend to do. But the way the Lord has told me to love them is just to be with them. Just to sit and nod my head why they tell me hour long stories about their lives and their children. Just to be nice and smile even when the old man is threatening to beat me up for not bringing him any food. They also love songs, which my team is desperately working on becoming better at singing; pray for our voices please.

Even better of an example that the language barrier, because my spanish is actually okay. There is a deaf woman here named Karen. Now, I know some sign language, but it turns out that Karen knows none. So how does one communicate and interact with a person you can not speak to at all. Let me tell you. Karen and I dance together, laugh together, play cards (with no rules what so ever), braid hair, and cook in the kitchen together. We laugh and skip and hold hands every where we go. Why? Because Karen has so much love in her heart that she doesn’t need language to share it.
