These long term missionaries are going on a short term mission trip! Okay, maybe short term missionaries are going on a shorter mission trip.
My squad is packing up Friday and boarding a truck bed at midnight to go to Tacloban aka “taco barn”. We will be riding in said truck bed for probably more than thirty hours! Woohoo!
Ill be trading in my bed under a fan for the ground under a mosquito net. Trading in my ice water for warm water, My home cooked meals for canned food. My car rides in for walking. Im leaving behind my wifi, my showers, my toilets, my electricity, my McDonalds delivery and more.
Maybe you are wondering what I am doing with all that great stuff to start with, what can I say I’ve been VERY BLESSED here in Manila!
Regardless of the things Im leaving behind I am beyond excited to go to Tacloban. It is one of the major cities here in the philippines that was destroyed by the Typhoon in October. The houses there were wiped out totally, so Im sure the place is still extrememly devestated. I look forward to doing feedings several times a day and maybe manual labor and definately building relationships and hearing the stories of the people there. I know that along with us HOPE travels to tacloban because we bring with us the spirit of the Lord, So full of hope so full of glory!
